  • January's name was originally "Metal Monkey".
  • Gilles de Rais is named after a 15th century French baron and general who was convicted and executed for child killing. According to some concept art, his name may have been Witkins initially. The name would have probably come from Joel-Peter Witkin, a photographer who took pictures of rather macabre things.
  • The name "Massu" may come from the Sicilian word "rassu", which means fat or grease. Which would make sense considering Massu's paunchy physique.
  • Von Gacy's name could be a reference to John Wayne Gacy, an American serial killer.
